Lady Gaga - Born this way (shit)

dimanche 29 mai 2011

note : 2/10

After scoring the spirits with his album "The Fame monster" comes in a second version with new titles like "Telephone", here Haus Of The Monsters return after three years non stop. On the cover, the young 24 year old woman presents with a more Gothic look, showing the rock clichés sauce à la Gaga Dance. A head fit for a Barbie doll that was dilapidated nests the head on a super bike of Action Man, seems to tell us the sad fate that contains the album.

At first glance, just by reading the tracklist we see influences or at least the effort to make some connection between the pouch and that contains the CD. Yeah Lady Gaga wants to play rock but ... from the first listen all seems inconsistent and disproportionate. "Marry The Night" opens the show with a lady gaga on edge, and consequently in flown dance worthy of the soup we serve each year of David Guetta.Follows "Born this Way", which betrays us in the intro (yes because Lady Gaga has a knack for making crazy intros where we feel that the song is going to take us somewhere else but it is far what we are expecting) and takes us to a "bad copy" of Madonna not to mention the banal lyrics. Starting to feel a little disappointed in the third track something happened and finally I can find a listenable track, "Hooker Government" and its catchy rhythm, come to tell us that Lady Gaga has missed something with this song, which seems to be the most sought unlike others. "Judas" and its sleazy synths, resulting in an interesting sound, can not get unanimity with its crappy refrain from of a bad dance compilation of 90's. "Americano" halfway between a pop dance to forget and Mexican folk, seems to turn into a disco song worthy of ABBA. "Hair" seems to be a pre-written song for the Disney Channel series such as High School Musical. We continue to listen to the rest, even if it becomes repetitive and boring, and there with large hiatus "Scheibe" as resolutely made for the dancefloor with a big influence of the 90s, but that does not convince as heard again and again as it is "Highway Unicorn." And in this end of playlist that is already quite messy and inconsistent, Lady Gaga seems to pay homage to his influences to rock .Unfortunately the rest is too smooth to be really appreciated, and boxes to keep coming so fateful rhythm and it seems that Lady Gaga did not feel very inspired when writing of her album.

So nothing really new in the mid-Pop / Dance, a non-coherent album that reminds us how the Eurovision contest has nothing to envy to Lady Gaga. Turning point after "the fame monster" who came to exploit the dance of the 90s without doing something new, "Born this Way" is not convincing and offers a soup previously used and cooled long ago.

"the show must go on"

mardi 19 janvier 2010

hello everyone !

Sorry for this hiatus, but I have abandoned this place because of personal reasons. I will come back very soon (the next week) with two new articles ( a live report and a review). I have decided for this new catastrophic year, to do a new format for the blog. First, I would like to make you discover new artists, not only through new album releases, but through their work under the section named "spotlight on".... I might change the template of the blog, to do something more personal, at least more "musical". I must think about it. If anyone here love design, drawing, I will be happy to have a new banner even if I have to pay.

well folks, happy new fucking year even if the beginning seems catastrophic and crappy. That's why I have inserted this video full with happiness and....maybe a little bit of ecstasy ;) dance dance people!

the nin show at Nimes.....that I've missed

mardi 1 septembre 2009
I never felt disappointed about a show, which is on this one normal because I didn't go to. It was the last, the ultimate and sometimes, I wonder why life is so badly made. But I know It's the same when It's rain. You can't control what isn't under you control. It was the case, I have prepared this show since April, over 200 € spent to my own pleasure that has been finally short. I felt shitty, and more than this when one of my friend told me that this show was better that Paris' and one of his friend (who was at this show), knew Alec Empire as a friend. (It's true because himself has met Nick Endo and Alec Empire) Very not lucky. Indeed. And I know that the acoustic in the Roman coliseum might be exceptional. But I would like thank the band and Mister Reznor to have thought of the French fans from the South of France, It was a nice gift for a last tour.

This is the track-list, click on some of them and you'll find a vid:

review of the month: Izïa

samedi 22 août 2009

Izïa Punk/Soul/Rock

rating: 8/10

She only is 18 years old and sings like a diva or should I say like Janis Joplin. This young woman, a famous french writter’s daughter, Jacques Higelin, doesn’t seem to be impressed by all this rock'n'roll spiral where magazines place her as a reference in the french rock. Normal, in France, the rock doesn’t exist, we have some arrogant assholes who pretend to be the new Beatles, so I understand that Izïa is a hopefulness for us. She has a hot rock'n'roll voice, and through the 12 tracks of her first album, that I find catchy and dynamic, I see a new generation inspired by the old generation trying to bring back memories of what was musically good before our birth. Actually Hannah Montana, Avril Lavigne ( aka the barbie doll on a skateboard) and other shits in the same kind bug me because according to crappy musical journalists, to grab a guitar and to play with it, means to be a fucking rock superstar with a rebel touch on nails. Fuck that shit, I thank Izïa for existing. One of her tracks, called « life is going down » is an improvisation she did in a cabaret bar with one of his father’s friend who's bassist, and she only was 14 years old. That’s one of my favourite songs among the track list where songs are made of ripeness that I salute for her age. I wasn’t bothered at all to listen to her album, It’s so damn’ good for ears and mood, that It reminds me of Led Zeppelin and Janis Joplin. But I insist to tell that she has her own style, even on stage she is like possessed and she offers to her public a unique experience.

I will come back

samedi 11 juillet 2009

Hello everyone,

Some of you know me as Coralie the music reviewer from the Dailycuntpunch, the satirical blog where you're free to tell to your best friend he is a fucking asshole. For those who don't know who I am, well that's simple; I'm a french musician (and student) who writes music reviews and do a lot of stuff that nobody give a damn fuck. Sorry, I'm not famous and my life is uninteresting to tell that's why i will not waste time about it (even if I think that some celebrities have a life more annoying that mine).

I was at the DCP (DailyCuntPunch) during several months and I started to write three months ago (April I think, check out at the DCP annex) music reviews. It was fun. Yes It was, even if I'm not native and the difficulty to speak english is big. I do my best then be nice if you read these lines, maybe there are faults, or your grandma's confessions who knows....Today my review is closed for some reasons, not because of my writing, but the format didn't fit for the DCP. I hope in the future there will be new ideas.

I have decided to go on and to post here my future reviews. The next month there will be a new review and I hope you'll enjoy it. I know some of you has given me a lot of support and I would like to thank you for your kind words because It's very important for me. You're welcome in my den dedicated to music, and other random craps that I would like to share with you.  Hope to see you there soon.

xxxCoraliexxx

ps: you're free to write what ever the fuck you want, but I hate racism and shit spams. So you know what you have to do now. Anons are welcome too :)
